Palimpsest
This mixed-media abstract artwork was acquired from a private American collector who spent decades curating pieces driven by material, process, and surface history. The collection was released without restoration, preserving each work in its authentic, lived condition.
The artwork is composed through layered textures, pigment transfers, and surface erosion, creating a palimpsest-like effect—where marks are built, obscured, and re-emerge over time. The composition suggests memory, quiet presence, and the persistence of form beneath accumulated layers.
Subtle dust particles and surface irregularities are present within the work. These are not defects, but natural signs of age and storage, and have been intentionally left untouched. Griha Sajja does not alter, restore, or artificially enhance vintage or collected artworks, choosing instead to present them as they exist.
The piece is framed in a solid stainless steel frame, substantial in weight, paired with thick front glass. The framing adds both physical presence and long-term protection, making this artwork suitable as a standalone statement piece.
Each viewing reveals new details—scratches, faded pigments, and layered marks—rewarding slow observation and thoughtful placement.
